From the Pioneering Time of the
Micro Music Laboratories
In his electronic studio (see the picture to the right) he began at that time with specific and systematic research in the field of the microcosm of music.

In addition to this he conducted research at the Phonetic Institute of the University of Cologne, which was affiliated to its Institute of Musicology, as well as research at the Institute for Communication Research of the University of Bonn - here again at the Phonetic Institute.

During his time in Cologne Peter Hübner developed three notations for electronic music, about which he gave a report to the experts gathered from all parts of the world in the Audimax (main auditorium) of the Technical University Berlin during the International Congress for Experimental Music in 1968 – to this day the biggest congress of its kind. At this occasion also the first performance of his composition Energy I was conducted.
